I applied in-person. The process took 4 days. I interviewed at Yankee Candle (Wilton, NY) in Mar 2015
Interview
It was informal, brief, and basic for a retail interview like most are. Downside to the job is you have to wear either navy, tan, white, black button up shirt or polo, jeans must be dark with a flare can not be tight. you must wear black shoes, no nail polish makeup or anything to distract you from the customer and the candles. no face piercings or tattoos they must be covered by a bandaid. very dated in my opinion.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
how would you handle an angry customer in the store
it was more of a casual interview, it lasted about 15 to 20 minutes. We went over how my previous work experience may be beneficial to my success at their store.
I applied online. I interviewed at Yankee Candle (Saint Petersburg, FL) in Oct 2020
Interview
The hiring manager was not there. I was asked to return next day. Was not totally interested in my experience. Interview was more about store needs. I was offered up to 32 hours with out benefits. The hourly pay was under nine dollars.
Standard interview questions. You sit down with the manager of the store and fill out the application. She/He then asks you the standard interview questions and then you wait around a week to hear back.
