Application
I applied through a recruiter. I interviewed at YipitData (New York, NY) in Feb 2021
Interview
I submitted an application, did a simple first round data assignment, then a Zoom interview, another (much more complex, week-long) data and writing assignment, and then had a super day style series of interviews with four members of the team, ending with the founder. Each of the final interviews has a different tilt, including pitching your assignment deliverable in one, a live case study in another, various behavioral and culture questions, and lots of opportunities to ask about the company and role. The interviews themselves were relatively casual, but the second data assignment is open-ended and very time intensive. The entire hiring process was a big time commitment, but all the steps were laid out before the first round and they were accommodative in letting me schedule the various stages around the dates that worked best for me.

Question 1
What are you hoping to get out of working at YipitData?
Tell me about a major professional failure.
What's something you like about your current role and something you would change?
The interviewing process was well conducted, it took ~2 months between the first recruiter contact and when I received the final answer. In general they were pleasant interviews, I had one experience that was a little bit more intimidating but the person is no longer at the company. The cases they deliver are not extremely hard, but require attention and effort, considering they always gave me at least 1 week to deliver I could use my weekend for doing it.

Step 5: Final rounds of interview with various people at the company
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at YipitData in Jun 2023
Interview
I interviewed an HR representative from China and because of the language barrier, she couldn't answer simple questions related to career trajectory, and division of labor within the team. She also refused to explain the possible career path within the company. All in all, it was a waste of time.
