Question 1
Como foi meu período de trabalho na minha ultima empresa?
I applied online. The process took 1 week. I interviewed at ZINK (Toronto, ON) in Mar 2017
Interview
I arrived a few minutes early and waited around the front. Their office was fairly interesting as it was embedded deeper within a network of offices. Being a smaller space, there wasn't really a reception area so I walked in and asked for my interviewer by name. There were only two people working there at the time and I ended p getting interviewed by both at the same time.
One asked me about my passions and so forth and why I was interested in the advertising space and what I hoped to get out of it. The other interviewer kept interjecting with questions relating to After Effects. (AE)
The first time I was asked about AE I told him that I wasn't too familiar but have used it before can hold my own in it, although I wouldn't want it to be the only thing I did during my time there. The next four AE questions were all about if I knew AE. I started going into more details about what I knew at the time, saying I knew how to mask, timing curves, overlaps, transition effects, etc. But it seemed like he was looking for something super specific, but didn't have a more specific question than "what is your familiarity with AE?"
It ended up being a 40 minute interview where I would cycle between me explaining my life and passion and switching to AE talks every 4 minutes. Beyond that, I asked about mentorship and they said it was pretty autonomous and that the position was unpaid. Although I feel I did well, it seemed like one of them cared about my ready made skills way more than having it be a more growth oriented relationship. With all that accounted for, I left knowing that I wouldn't be working there for my internship, regardless of whether there was an offer or not.
Also, they never got back to me even after sending a followup courtesy email.
