Zurn Elkay reached out to me directly via LinkedIn. I had a 1.5-hour conversation with an executive recruiter who said I was a great fit and was glad our conversation went so well. He was energetic, informative, and encouraged me to apply.
After applying, I followed up multiple times over the next several weeks but received no response. Then, out of the blue, I received a rejection email at 5:00 a.m. on a Saturday, which is not standard and felt impersonal. For a company that initiated contact and expressed strong interest, the lack of follow-through and timing of the rejection came across as disappointing and unprofessional.
Ultimately, I’m glad the process didn’t go further. If this is how potential candidates are treated, it raises concerns about how employees might be treated as well.
