Question 1
The assignment questions were more based on mind map and answering queries, and working with marketing tools.
The second round was mostly based on the assignment answers that I'd provided. The final round started with questions based on my background and education related details like "Tell me more about yourself", "Why work for a startup environment like e-GMAT", "Why this particular role", and similar ones on your personal front. It also involved questions about your current job and responsibilities. Following which the questions were more specific to the Marketing and Operations role, testing my current knowledge in this field and how it could be applied working with them. Overall a great interview experience, well organised and conducted, and gave me a clear picture of what I would be doing in this particular role with the company.
I applied online. The process took 2 weeks. I interviewed at e-GMAT (New Delhi) in Dec 2015
Interview
The selection procedure had 2 tasks and 2 levels of interviews based on the tasks performed. The 1st task is basically in the nature of analyzing and responding to the customer needs in an efficient & time bound manner. The second task is about designing a web page. So, I guess they were trying to check both analytic as well as technical skills. The tasks were designed in such a perfect way that the candidate can understand properly what his/her work in the company would be and what is expected out of him/her.The interviews were conducted via Video conference. So location was not a problem. I actually was in 2 different locations for the 2 interviews. The interviews averaged at 40 mins each. The questions were about my past work experience and the tasks performed.
I am an IIT & IIM grad and I have seen and heard about many interviews where irrelevant stuff (of whose knowledge is not required for the job in offer) is asked. But e-GMAT guys were very clear in what they were looking in the candidate (me) and I also got a clarity about what is expected of me. As far as I am concerned, this is the best interview experience I have had till now.
