I was excited to interview for a Senior PR Manager role at iQuanti and was asked to complete a detailed take-home assignment. I invested significant time and effort creating thoughtful, strategic work that directly aligned with the role’s requirements.
After submitting it, I received little communication and was ultimately ghosted, even after following up multiple times over the course of a week. They want free consulting with no intent to hire.
It was frustrating to put in unpaid work with no feedback, response, or closure. Companies should respect candidates’ time and be transparent about next steps, especially when assignments require meaningful effort.
Advice to Management:
If you request extensive take-home projects, please communicate clearly about timelines, provide feedback, or consider compensating candidates for their work. Respect goes a long way in shaping your employer brand.
