I applied online. I interviewed at onX in Nov 2020
Interview
Started off with your typical HR phone screen, then did a 1-hour take-home project to build a simple Android app. After that was an interview with the head of engineering, including live coding an algorithms exercise (nothing crazy). Then another take-home project, this time was 4 hours build a more complex Android app with a separate 1-hour code review afterward. The final step was 2ish hours of interviews with various people across the organization for cultural/team fit. Overall extremely enjoyable process, great people, very flexible and respectful of time.
Interview questions [1]
Question 1
One typical leetcode-style algorithm question. Two take-home Android projects; the first was 1 hour to build a simple app to do some calculations, the second was 4 hours to build a more complex app using MapBox and local storage.
