I applied through Handshake and was contacted by the CEO (Lewis C. Lin) through email. He requested a video response to some basic questions which I thought was a bit odd as usually, you start with a call before committing to applying.
I had a call with him a week or so after, and joined the meeting without looking over my resume prior to the call. He began talking about his experiences and asked about mine, then proceeded to question why I attended community college over a university first which made me uncomfortable as it was a personal choice. Further, he asked why I had a few month pause between graduation and my current job, which he seemed more interested in than my work experience.
In the beginning of our call, he said questions would be saved for last, but did not make time for me to ask (specifically as the position seemed to lack clarity on expectations and deliverables). I ended up not following up with Lewis as I felt the whole process was unorganized and unprofessional, possibly it being due to his casualness, but I did not feel comfortable moving forward with conversing with him at the end of the day.
