About Code Kids
Code Kids is a leading provider of creative technology education for children aged 5–13. Our mission is to make technology learning fun, accessible, and inspiring through hands-on experiences in coding, robotics, digital design, game creation, and emerging technologies.
We are looking for enthusiastic and energetic Tech Instructors to join our holiday camp team. Whether you are a qualified teacher, trainee teacher, university student, STEM graduate, tutor, or someone passionate about technology and education, we provide comprehensive training and ongoing support to help you succeed.
The Role
As a Code Kids Tech Instructor, you will deliver engaging technology-based activities to groups of children aged 5–13 during school holiday camps. Using our structured curriculum and resources, you will help children develop confidence, creativity, problem-solving skills, and digital literacy in a fun and supportive environment.
You will also play an important pastoral role, ensuring every child feels welcome, safe, included, and encouraged throughout the camp experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging and interactive coding, robotics, digital design, and technology workshops.
- Adapt activities to suit different ages, abilities, and learning styles.
- Foster creativity, participation, teamwork, and problem-solving.
- Support children in completing projects and overcoming challenges.
- Act as a group leader, providing pastoral support and building positive relationships with children.
- Supervise children during breaks, lunch periods, and non-teaching activities.
- Maintain a safe, inclusive, and positive learning environment.
- Follow all safeguarding, health and safety, and child protection procedures.
- Communicate professionally with parents, colleagues, schools, and camp leaders.
- Assist with camp setup, pack-down, equipment management, and general camp operations.
- Represent Code Kids with enthusiasm, professionalism, and a commitment to inspiring children every day.
Essential Requirements
- Passion for working with children and helping them learn.
- Experience working with children in an educational, childcare, coaching, tutoring, mentoring, youth work, or camp environment.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong organisational skills and reliability.
- Ability to engage and motivate groups of children.
- Positive attitude, patience, enthusiasm, and adaptability.
- Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
- Eligibility to work in the UK.
Desirable Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, Early Career Teacher (ECT), trainee teacher, or university student.
- Experience delivering workshops, lessons, clubs, camps, or enrichment activities.
- Interest in technology, coding, computer science, engineering, robotics, game design, or digital creativity.
- Experience with platforms such as Scratch, Python, Micro, robotics kits, Minecraft Education, or similar technologies.
- Paediatric First Aid qualification (or willingness to obtain one).
- Enhanced DBS certificate (or willingness to obtain one).

Working Hours
- School holiday camps.
- Typical hours: 9:00 AM – 3:30 PM.
- Additional opportunities available through after-school clubs and enrichment programmes during term time.
