Pros
Good benefits for being a part of Colgate.
Company car, reimbursed phone, internet, and they supply you with everything you need.
Good Product and excellent training on the product itself.
Great for young and unattached professionals looking to build a career.
Cons
No accountability to management so you can try to get away with anything, but so can your bosses.
Too much overnight travel
Bad for families
Bad for veterans (prepare for miserable treatment and disrespect if anyone finds out you're a veteran. They'll treat you like garbage, ask inappropriate questions, treat you differently than other employees, and overall make you feel unwelcome.)
If you want a promotion, you have to relocate.
Absolutely minimal marketing support for the Pet Team. All of the resources go to the more profitable veterinary side of the business.
High turnover means more work for the ones that stay. Many people left while I was on the team. If you look across the country, you'll see many openings for this position. (See the Hill's Pet Nutrition page of Glassdoor and you'll find more of this same job. They split it so it doesn't look like too many vacancies, but they are plentiful). This job isn't some summer gig you get between semesters, this is a full-on career that people are abandoning left and right because of abusive management and lack of support.
Don't work here if you love your spouse or your children. You will barely see them and you'll have a manager that doesn't care about you or them. If you hate your family and would rather work all the time on a Sisyphean task, go ahead and apply; you'll be in good company.
