Bolt Technology's action is technology, the kind used to map out oil and gas discoveries. Its product suite consists of the key components needed by seismic exploration vessels to acquire seismic data: an energy source (air guns); synchronization (controllers); and communication (cables) linking the guns and the controllers. Its marine air guns help produce 3-D seismic maps for oil and gas exploration by firing high-pressure air into the water, producing elastic waves that penetrate deep into the earth. These waves create a "map" of the subsurface geography. The company also operates a fleet of remotely operated vehicles (ROVs). Bolt Technology's major customers include CCG-Veritas and Schlumberger.
