The company manages and operates operates a fleet of oil tankers and dry bulk cargo carriers in the Far East. Its vessels travel the eastern Chinese coastal seas, ocean, and Yangtze River and primarily transport coal, crude oil, and refined oil. China Shipping Development also provides services in other bulk cargo transportation, ship leasing, cargo forwarding, the sale of ships, container repair and construction, and the sale of ship spare parts and ship technology. The company is controlled by China Shipping (Group) Company, which also owns a controlling stake in China Shipping Container Lines.
