Computer companies have a friend in Compal Electronics. One of the world's largest notebook computer manufacturers, the company makes a variety of notebook computers, computer monitors, LCD TVs, and other devices on a contract basis for leading PC vendors. Its Digital Media Center (DMC) develops portable and handheld consumer electronics. The company counts Acer, Dell, Nokia, Toshiba, and Hewlett-Packard among its customers. Founded in 1984, Compal Electronics has manufacturing plants located in Brazil, China, Taiwan, and Vietnam. It has two subsidiaries in the US, Bizcom Electronics and Auscom Engineering.
