China State Construction Engineering Corporation (CSCEC) is a big man on campus. The state-owned firm is the largest domestic and overseas construction contractor and real estate developer in China. It is engaged in surveying, designing, and building major structures, including skyscrapers, hotels, airports, hydroelectric plants, and railways. Projects have included infrastructure work on Disneyland in Hong Kong, construction of a rocket testing facility at the Shenzhou Space Center, and construction of one of the world's tallest buildings, the Shanghai World Financial Center. CSCEC is also one of several companies contracted on the 1,305-kilometer high-speed railway between Beijing and Shanghai.
