Description CyOptics sees its way clear to optical networks. The company makes optical components based on indium phosphide (InP), a compound semiconductor that runs faster than silicon, the material in most microchips. Its chips, lasers, and receivers are integrated telecommunications network equipment. CyOptics also offers contract design and manufacturing services from facilities in Mexico and the US. Customers include telecom equipment makers, module suppliers, and defense contractors. Founded in 1999, CyOptics has received funding from equity investors Jerusalem Venture Partners (which owns 54% of the company), Sprout Group, Birchmere Ventures, and Eurofund. The company filed an IPO in 2011.
