Our Mission is to design and manufacture warheads and provide nuclear services.
For over 70 years, we have proudly played a role of critical national importance: helping deliver the UK’s nuclear deterrent, preserve peace, prevent coercion and deter aggression.
We are at the forefront of nuclear technology and innovation: from continuously delivering the warheads to ensure, and assure, the UK’s Continuous At Sea Deterrent, to pioneering novel solutions to deter threats and counter terrorism – always delivering to keep our nation safe and secure.
Today, our workforce is 7,000-strong and brings together globally- respected and exceptional. We aim to build enduring relationships with our government customers, international partners, suppliers and communities in the locations where we operate.
We have once again been named as one of the top Best Big Companies to work for in the Sunday Times Best Companies Awards, as well as gaining recognition in a number of other categories last year.
We create and maintain a safe operating culture where safety is front and centre of everything we do. From building state-of-the-art facilities, to supporting our Production, Science, Engineering and Technology programmes, the management of Environment, Safety, Health and Wellbeing underpins all activities at AWE.
