Falcon Bancshares is the holding company for Falcon International Bank, which offers traditional deposit products and loans, as well as personal and commercial insurance, financial planning, and trust services from more than 15 branches in South Texas. As the "International" in its name implies, the bank also has branches south of the border in Guadalajara and Monterrey, Mexico. Construction and land development loans make up about a third of Falcon Bank's lending portfolio, which also includes commercial mortgages (more than 25%), single-family and multifamily residential mortgages, and business, consumer, and farmland loans. The company is controlled by CEO Adolfo Gutierrez and family.
