One Liberty Properties may own the space where lovebirds shop for loveseats. Or bird food. The self-managed and self-administered real estate investment trust (REIT) invests in retail, industrial, and office properties throughout the US. It owns or co-owns more than 70 properties totaling some 5.4 million sq. ft. of space; more than half of its portfolio is leased to retailers including Haverty Furniture Companies and Giant Food Stores. The REIT also owns warehouses, fitness centers, and an apartment community. One Liberty Properties targets net-leased properties, minimizing its responsibilities for taxes, maintenance, and other operating costs.
