RWE-DEA AG für Mineraloel und Chemie (RWE-DEA) produces the hydrocarbons that keep cars racing down the Autobahn -- and the wheels of Germany's industry turning. The oil and gas exploration and production company, part of conglomerate RWE AG, operates numerous gas projects (exploration, production and storage) in Germany. It is the operator of Germany's largest oil field, Mittelplate in the North Sea. RWE-DEA also participates in exploration and production projects in North Africa, Denmark, Norway, Poland, the UK and in a handful of other countries. In 2008 it reported proved reserves of 74 million cu. meters of natural gas equivalent.
