ViXS Systems believes there's no such thing as an excess of video. The company designs specialized semiconductors used for video processing and networking in video surveillance systems, DVD players, set-top boxes, home media centers, and LCD and plasma televisions. Its devices are also integrated into PC TV tuner boards, which enable PCs to receive analog, digital, and HDTV signals and to author DVDs based on home movies or other digital files. The fabless semiconductor company offers related chipsets and software. Customers include Dell, Fujitsu, Hitachi, Microsoft, Panasonic, and Sony. Founded in 2001, ViXS has offices in Asia, Europe, and North America. Its investors are led by New Enterprise Associates.
