Collaborative culture and ownership, but uncertainty in leadership

Pros

Good people and a collaborative team culture. The product serves a real market need in legal tech and fintech. Plenty of opportunity to wear multiple hats and grow your skills. I built a team from scratch and had real ownership over the web platform, which was rewarding.

Cons

Went through a major rebrand and several leadership changes that created uncertainty. Communication from senior leadership could be inconsistent during transitions. Growth paths were limited by the size of the org.

Pros

The hiring team was really nice.

Cons

The company is extremely disorganized and operates with a BPO-style mentality. There is a serious lack of integrity regarding the hiring process; they promise holidays and benefits in the offer letter that are never honored once you actually start. You are often expected to handle the workload of at least, four people at once, which leads to constant burnout. To make matters worse, the products fail at least once a week, and you are left to handle extremely hostile and mean customers without any support from leadership. Management is a total disaster, you’ll have multiple supervisors, but none of them seem to know what they are doing or how to provide actual help. The culture is also very toxic due to heavy favoritism. If you aren't part of the "inner circle," your life will be made very difficult. It’s a place where office politics matter more than actually doing your job professionally.
