Working in the IT department was one of the most toxic professional experiences I’ve ever had. The culture was dominated by fear—people knew that questioning decisions or raising concerns could lead to being pushed out quickly. I personally watched many talented colleagues unfairly pushed out, creating an environment where silence was survival and genuine collaboration was impossible. Leadership promised transformation but delivered chaos, with no clear strategy and constant churn; turnover was so high it felt like a revolving door. There were also vendor relationships that, in my opinion, lacked transparency and raised serious ethical questions.
