      Promising tech concept, but toxic work environment.

      Pros

      Good technology concept and position in emerging market, company is ideally placed. Challenging tech and UI problems.

      Cons

      Top heavy corporate structure. Management is often unrealistic in forecasts and expectations. Specific members of management team very belittling to team members that realistically try to identify and address project risks. Hyper-aggressive project timelines and unrealistic projections and expectations. Company pays lip service to process and control discipline, but often upper management will scrap project and program plans without consulting with or in direct opposition to suggestions of engineering team leads. Constantly shifting design guidance and production plans.

      Smarts doesn't always mean success

      Pros

      Leading edge technology in lidar. Amazing brilliantly technologically smart in talent in Engineering and Software. The management has some of the smartest people you will every meet. Leading scientists and engineers in their field working here.

      Cons

      Wasteful spending habits, poor leadership, lack of guidance and planning, often put the cart before the horse then scramble to try to figure out the horse, new talent that was brought in was wasted and under utilized, they like their pecking order

      Growing Pains and Culture Change

      Pros

      Technology is cutting edge. The company is really on track to be a leader in the Lidar market.

      Cons

      AEye used to be great. The culture was wonderful; everyone worked hard and supported one another. Now that AEye is going public and is trying to hire rapidly, the culture is changing. There are many new people with unclear job definitions. Direction is unclear. Org structure is unclear. Morale is low amongst anyone who's been here longer than 3 months.
