Pros

1)Work with all the aircraft's on the market from ATR to B747 2)Work with multiple airlines from domestic to International airliners. 3)Licenses for different aircraft's and airlines paid for by the company. 4)Experienced senior management.

Cons

1)Pay is too less compared to the work time.(Start Range from Rs 8500-1150) 2)Expect to continue for even up to 24 hours a shift due to shortage of staff and not get an extra off for it which means after 8 hours of break come back to work again.(OT@Rs 65/hour) 3)Passing the license exams is your job and this COULD affect your chance of getting future licenses unless your willing to do the necessary side arrangements. 4)Expect to be harassed verbally by the airline staff (You will be surprised to see the behavior of the managers of some of the most prominent airlines in the world to be sub standard to the company thy are representing) as you are working for them as you are working for a ground handling agency and in turn working for them. So you have 2 Bosses the first one being your own company and the other being the airlines. No point trying to get back at them through mails(legally) and all as the company will be forced to accept the airlines viewpoint since they have to retain the client(airlines). So my suggestion you abuse the person who harasses and write an apology. 5)The Duty Managers have a lot of ego issues going on which in turn affects the morale and ultimately the productivity of the employees.(Please Grow up Managers) 6)The harassment from HR department. These PEOPLE who do the meager jobs of pushing the paperwork in an A/C office do not respect the employees(esp the handymen) who work all day in the hot sun and cant read or write. The rest of us will be treated harshly like they are doing us a favor, as a matter of fact we are the reason they have the chair and the AC. 7)A sum of Rs 50,000 has to be paid as a bond for service of 2 years(So if you leave before 2 years and forfeit your claim to the sum) or if you get a rare license expect your work time to double and your bond to increase dependent on the mood of the company. 8)So font expect a government job with no work since it has the Air India Tag.

Pros

- Rapid learning environment; you will learn about airport passenger and cargo operations like nowhere else. - Peers are generally supportive at the beginner level and there is limited politics within the customer service agent level. - Experience of working at an international airport.

Cons

Too many to start with: - Highly corrupt and arrogant management. The place is wrought with immense scams and scandals; rumour-mongering is intense and office politics is often taken to the extreme. - The payscale is pathetic. In some cases, if you come from a decent background, the dress you wear to a nightclub will be of better value than the salary you get. The pay is highly dependent on the days you come; more like contract labourers. - No support from the company except the grace of some individual good managers. If someone wants to falsely blame you for rude behaviour, he or she can get away with anything while the manager as well as the contract airline can take punitive action against employees.
