Pros

At first they treat you well, electronic toys, support, training, etc.

Cons

Extremely "micro managed" at EVERY level. Management "requests" social media reviews. They were rated as a TOP company in SC but has laid off over 25 people in the last 5 months, there are a few good employees left however most are "eyes & ears" to CEO and NSM.

Pros

They have a great culture & benefits. They reward you with gifts, gear, parties, and outside of work activities. This company has so much potential and can be a fun place to work.

Cons

This company has potential to be great, but they really need to look into each department and talk with their employees. And I mean really talk to their employees. Micromanaging seems to be a common element across almost all departments and it is discouraging to employees and definitely has an effect on them. As with every company, there are a few bad apples that can cause damage within the company itself, and I witnessed that first hand... While I did witness a lot of good things, I witnessed and was subjected to bullying, intimidation and flat out unprofessionalism from directors throughout my entire tenure. Seeing your co-workers (male and female) cry because they are so overworked, belittled, and made to feel unappreciated is gut wrenching. And unfortunately, all of this overshadows any "good" that is experienced. Strenuous workloads seem to be a major common compliant as well and I believe plays a significant role in employees becoming "burned out". It breaks my heart to hear from people in almost every department are still unhappy within their role, even after moving to different departments. And these are good hardworking people. I know for a fact that they do not like negative reviews on here, but I really feel like I have to let all of this be known. Publicly. I have never had my spirit broken the way that is was while I was employed here. And I do not wish this on anyone - especially some of the amazing people that work within this company. While everyone has different experiences, this is my genuine review and what I experienced within the company. I wish AMAROK the absolute best.

Thank you for your feedback. You are correct that we have a great culture, can be a fun place to work, and still have the potential to be even better, which is one of the things that makes AMAROK so exciting. We work hard to listen to our employees through feedback in surveys, Town Hall meetings, informal discussions/conversations, and personal 1:1’s. I’ve not seen a more warm and inviting HR team at any company. We’re also responsive to the feedback that team receives. For instance, we doubled the sizes of multiple teams across the company in the last year so that we could serve our customers and provide an excellent working environment. AMAROK values high performance, passion, agility, teamwork, and optimism. That type of culture is not for everyone but has worked well for the vast majority of our team members. We do not tolerate “bullying, intimidation,” or “unprofessionalism”. If that occurred with you, I truly wish you had let me, your department head or HR know about it. We will continue to honestly communicate with employees, listen to concerns, address those where possible, and remove obstacles to growing and performing at our best. I wish you the best in finding a position that brings you joy and wish you the best in your future endeavors.

Not a place for millennials

Pros

The company provides fair compensation.

Cons

The culture is very uptight and overall conservative. This company may be ideal for boomers, but if you're a millennial who enjoys a vibrant and dynamic workplace, I don't recommend it. There is a good ol' boys club vibe, and they do not handle harassment complaints appropriately.

Thank you for your feedback. This is not reflective of how our team members describe our culture. In fact, in surveys our employees describe our culture as dynamic, fast-paced, fun and innovative. Our culture is one of the keys to our explosive growth and for being ranked as one of the best places to work in South Carolina for 5 consecutive years, including being ranked #5 in the state this year for mid-sized companies. We believe strongly in diversity and have proven that in our recent hires and promotions. AMAROK takes any harassment complaint very seriously and ensures that any complaint is investigated thoroughly and that appropriate actions is taken, if warranted. Mark Wesley, CEO
