Pros

The free lunches were okay. I usually just had the salad or sandwich bar. Got a few good deals on silver and gold. Fun week was great. Day-to-day work was easy: email copy, blogs, image headers & subheaders, CTAs, and catalogs.

Cons

No on-boarding whatsoever. Merchandising and Marketing don't know how to work together even though they do so on a daily basis. The heads of the departments argue a lot about semantics and petty things that cause a lot of delays and issues with campaigns. Nobody knows the processes or responsibilities for other departments, there is no clear communication for projects or tasks, and you have to ask multiple people to find out the answer to a single question. The company was bought out and is being restructured which has caused all kinds of confusion, layoffs, and changes in responsibilities. So many meetings! Even at an agency I had less meetings per day. I never felt like I was in a Senior role or understood my responsibilities at any point. I was repeatedly told that copywriters were looked down on and distrusted due to those previously in the role.
