Pros

I recently worked at APRW as an Executive and I had an overall positive experience with the company. The interns, executives, and managers that I worked with were fantastic - they were approachable, supportive, and always had an open-door policy. They provided me with clear directions and guidance that helped me perform my job efficiently. I felt like I was part of a team and we were all working towards the same goals.

Cons

- There is a high volume of overtime due to the large number of proposals being handled. - Employee turnover is high. - Compensation is not competitive and may be below industry standards. - It is possible that the company may terminate employment without prior notice, disregarding the notice period outlined in the contract, which may range from one to two months.

Good teammates, but...

Pros

A great team to work with, everyone supports each other. Seniors are very open to sharing tips and guiding newbies. Sometimes there are cool team activities! And APRW is a quite a chill place to work. Learn about many different topics to work with different clients. If all your seniors leave at the same time, there's a high chance you'll get to be promoted within the year you joined.. Honestly, the boss is a good person and truly visionary, but there are some points of criticism that really have to be said.

Cons

The boss is very distant from the team; not being in office is one thing, but it's another to not be present. It's usually hard to reach her to get clearance for items - sometimes this leads to you being scolded by client even though it was something your boss had to do (and you already reminded her multiple times). Negative work-life-balance. The amount of work is inane, you will have enough work that fills your time from 9-6 from retainer clients and regular day-to-day, but after 6pm it's time to do pitches. Sometimes it goes up to 10+ pitches in a month - and if you're in the content & creative team this means OT on top of your OT If the longest lasting member on the team said that they are still here because they don't need to interact with the boss, something is wrong. If there are new generations of teams (where every 2-3 years, it's a totally new team with no seniors), something is wrong..

Good colleagues, not so good leadership

Pros

Colleagues are good but turnover is so high, you won't see them for long. Office just renovated , food nearby quite nice and good variety. Overall ok for a first agency experience but leave as soon as you find better opportunities out there

Cons

Director never around, no mentorship provided, always away on personal appointments. Even clients are fed up that she is missing.. junior staff have to answer for her.. digital team already so overworked but new accounts + pro bono work just keep adding on.. too stressful here with no regard for employee's wellbeing, a lot of lip service but no real steps taken to manage workloads.. Director a lot of the time out of touch with the team and the work and industry trends. Agency leadership also not as progressive and forward thinking as what is written on website.. bewware..
