Pros

- Ability to work remotely (however, this was enforced at the time due to the global pandemic). - Weekly birthday celebrations. - Open communication when it came to the reason for my resignation; the owner seemed to listen to my critiques. It was extremely difficult to come up with any.

Cons

- Zero amount of onboarding. This could be caused by the remote nature of the position, but I wasn't given much of a welcome, any sort of documentation, and then was asked to complete a failed and forgotten project within a week's time (Hint: It took two months to complete). - Lack of company culture. I had nobody to talk to and needed to initiate every conversation. Didn't learn any of the seasoned staff's names. I didn't even know what most individuals were working on. No personality. Oh, and everyone I worked with would spend hours doing overtime with zero pay. - MICROMANAGING owner. This man serves as the definition of micromanager. There was no 'lead' on my project and everything had to go through him, even though he didn't fully understand what was required to get anything done. - Horrific communication. Nobody knew what was going on. Poor, confusing use of Microsoft Teams. Every single message in a public thread was accusatory and there was always blame laid. HR responded to my resignation with "I could tell you've been struggling for awhile now." and seemed to do nothing about it. - Disorganization, disorganization, disorganization...must I say it again? There was NO sort of milestone plan, schedule, task designation, nothing. Everyday was putting out fires. Clients had been waiting on products for months. I had to pick up slack and communicate with the clients myself in an attempt to save face. - Complacency. Any veteran staff I brought up all these issues to responded with immense apathy. Nobody had been bringing up any of their frustrations, even though they seemed unhappy. HR told me to accept the boss for who they were, "That's just who he is". I would hardly rate them one star...there's some potential, but clouded by horrific management. I was met with stories of individuals resigning the first week I started, there were many before me.

Racist, sexist, homophobic environment. Overtime is required. There's no office culture. CEO feeds off ego feeding.
