Pros

The best part about this job was leaving it in my rear view mirror. Pay is decent, but you will work insanely long hours and be expected to perform miracles daily in exchange for your paycheck. Nice building / location on Charlotte’s South End.

Cons

Leadership at highest level is toxic, distrusting and petty. Abusive company culture and mixed-messages from company founders as well as severe micromanagement and inexplicably punitive treatment of employees. They do not care about work/life balance and thrive on making employees jump through hoops just for the thrill of how powerful it makes them feel. I personally witnessed so many toxic, degrading and unprofessional acts, statements and behaviors in my time with the company that I knew exactly what my own fate would be no matter how hard I tried. I was expected to read the mind of a supervisor/founding partner who constantly changed her mind, gaslighted and set me up to fail at every turn. I regularly worked 14 hour days, for weeks and months at a time, and the harder I worked the worse the abuse got. I literally heard this same “leader” call a former employee a very ugly name in front of our external ad agency and for the pettiest of reasons. While I worked at AccruePartners, they were paying a pricey reputation management firm to write fake reviews on Glassdoor, etc. so beware the positive reviews you see here. I don’t know of single former employee who left AccruePartners wishing they could have stayed longer. That says a lot.

Pros

Seeing these “good reviews” I have to shed light on the fact that these are fake reviews. There are endless red flags at Accrue which is why I am looking for a new role. I might be brand new to recruiting and this whole industry but I know that I have never seen so many people that I never would’ve expected to leave, leave in the last few months that I’ve been here and it’s disheartening and I’m learning each day why the best move is getting out of here. A lot of us here were sucked in by the money and false impression of what actually goes on. My coworkers and I have never experienced disrespect and micromanagement that is here. When I say disrespect I mean being cussed out regularly and called stupid. Amy and Patty are constantly trash talking employees that they pretend to care for. Everytime someone quits, Amy and Patty go from pretending to love them to immediately downplaying their skills and creating fake stories and lies to cover up the fact that people leave because of them. The promotions and titles here are not legit they seem to be just titles that are suddenly made up. VPs and Directors everywhere that aren’t actually anything of the sort. I wouldn’t be surprised if they created a VP of the chair just because. I could go on but the point is that they do a great job of sucking you in and painting you a pretty picture, but I promise it isn’t what you think. It is endless stress and worry about being fired everyday if you don’t bow down to the fake leaders here.

Cons

See above but no work life balance, emails all weekend, fear instilled environment.

Pros

There is opportunity for growth if you’re able to stick it out. Most employees are friends and get along well (excluding upper management and principle partners).

Cons

This is the worst work environment I’ve ever been in. The principle partners and leadership are bullies who consistently treat their employees horribly. There is clear favoritism and the hours you work are long. There is talk of flexible hours and a great culture but none of that is seen in practice. They tout winning the Best Places to work award but Most employees feel pressured to lie and say good things.
