Pros

If you need quick money and a job that isn't long term, go for it. Read the cons for the full details.

Cons

There's no reason anybody with a college degree should be working here - this is a 100% commission based job and while they'll tell you they give you base pay if you don't sell much, you're going to get fired in <3 weeks if you're not making sales to innocent passerby customers at Sam's Club and Costco. Customers walk by your table and your job is to interject yourself into conversation and attempt to sell them cell phone service, a TV package, etc. This isn't what you went to school for and you didn't work hard all those years to take a position which pays you cents on the dollar compared to what any other normal company would pay you. Don't sell yourself short and work here, where "managers" and people above you make money off your back - and get this, the person who runs the entire office themselves have to go out to these grocery stores and make sales in order to keep their salaries up, what does that tell you about a company like this? A lot of these reviews are posted by current employees to get the ratings up - they're not honest reviews. Think about a pyramid scheme, but a legal version of it - it's a bunch of money hungry people who prey on people who need quick money by telling them that America is a capitalist haven where if you work hard maybe one day you can be just like them (they give you this motivational speech every morning) - when in all reality every sale you make makes them more money. They don't care about you and their turnover rate is incredibly high (they'll argue this, don't listen to them) - there was not one week in which the group of people I was working with was the exact same as the week before. People get fired left and right because their 5 days (lol) of training didn't lead to them being incredible salesmen (interesting, almost as if it's a quantity over quality approach... bring in as many people as possible and whoever makes the cut makes it). The interview is a joke because they literally just want a human body in the store selling their products - they literally do not care who you are. They make it seem like a huge accomplishment that you got hired, when really they hire everybody. It's not competitive. Please don't work here! You deserve better! Not to mention they make you drive to grocery stores up to 50 miles away so you get home around 7 pm. It's absolutely ridiculous that people work here - it's a cult mentality and there's no perks to working here. Nobody looks out for you and if you aren't selling phones and TV packages to innocent old women in grocery stores, you get fired. No lies here, just truth. Look elsewhere and work somewhere that wants you and treats you well. Oh, and that pays you a liveable wage because you're a human being that deserves stability in life (something MANY companies offer)

Dear Sir or Madam, Thank you for your review and giving us the opportunity to address some of your concerns regarding Acquire. Ironically, many of your statements stand in opposition of the title of your review. There are numerous areas where this review contains biased, strictly opinionated and factually untrue comments. We have taken the time, however, to address the above comments that are true in hopes that anyone reading this will know that the unaddressed remarks are suspect to interpretation. The first truthful statement within your feedback is the fact that there are times when employees may not get home until 7pm. We apologize if this was an inconvenience for you in anyway. Another factual statement we want to address is that if you work hard you will one day get to where you want to be or, “where they are.” The message our Directors are trying to share is you will succeed and work your way up [in any job] as long as you put forth the time and effort. Lastly, as you stated, we do market and sell our clients’ products and services to membership holders inside various Sam’s Club and Costco locations across the Raleigh Durham area. Although true, these remarks are not necessarily cons to all who work with us. We each have the right to our own opinions and we thank you for sharing yours. With that said, it is upsetting to hear you found no perks to working with our company and we certainly hope you will be able to find something that better meets your needs as well as lines up more with what you went to school for, per your advice in your review. Again, thank you and we wish you the very best! Kind Regards, Acquire Human Resources Dept.

Learning to train and manage others

Pros

I am getting to take on more responsibility. A good opportunity to learn more than just marking, I’m learning about how a business operates. I’m learning how to interact, coach, and train different types of people and learning styles. It is very encouraging to see that the training I am giving others is helping them grow personally and professionally. I get to wear a suit everyday.

Cons

It is challenging to manage more than people just myself. More responsibility, so definitely more accountability.... there’s no room mistakes. Other people look up to me, so if I’m not having a good day they can tell and it effects them.

Pros

There are no pros, except maybe for the owners.

Cons

If you are currently reading this, please do not fall for this company’s scheme. Do yourself a favor and look elsewhere. They will lure you in with catchy job titles such as “Account Manager” or “Marketing Manager” with no intent of actually hiring anyone for anything other than face-to-face (harassing) sales positions. The website boasts steady, fast growth and lucrative opportunities, both of which are non-existent. They glamorize the website and show “company outings” but in actuality, it is all just a sham. All the other reviews are almost all positive because they were written by employees who were incentivized to do so. The interview process is extremely vague and you will not realize what you have signed up for until you are taken to an “office” which is essentially just a big-box store like BJ’s or Sam’s club. This type of hiring process has been a problem in recent years and must be stopped. Prime example being Norspark. Look it up. It is the same exact misdirection that is occurring here. I have to hand it to the owners, it has worked pretty well for them. Everyone else works, they rake in the profits. If the opportunity to make significant income presents itself, even in the form of taking advantage of others’ efforts, most people would take it I guess; I don’t really blame them. Rule of thumb: if something seems like it’s too good to be true, chances are, it is. Don’t fall for this.
