The Business Development/Capture/Proposal departments need change. People always talk process, but no process has been set in stone as people always find a way around it. Too much drama and very unprofessional environment. You have to "fake it till you make it" in order to be somewhat successful here. Some individuals will step on others toes just to get the job done instead of working collaboratively and encouraging team work. No support from senior leadership as it is difficult to encourage new innovative ways to be successful. There is no strategy and leadership does not see the value in proper business development and capture management. Leadership would go after every RFP that drops, without even any proper preparation, which is a waste of B&P and resources.
It was unfortunate that I thought I had a manager who I could trust, see as a mentor, and help me be successful within the company. Instead, this individual would talk badly about myself to other colleagues, and make false accusations and stories to make themselves look good.
