Pros

You work hard, show that you're motivated you will most definitely be given opportunities to progress. I've been with Aero-care just under a year, starting as a baggage handler I am now a leading hand, also cross trained into customer services and airport movement coordinator (a very high responsibility indeed). I didn't ask for any of these roles, I put in 100% every shift and it was recognised. Started off around 18hrs a week, now I sit between 40-50hrs comfortably. They host monthly one on one meetings with your dedicated supervisor to track your progress within the company and address any concerns you may have. Staff travel benefits, depending on which operation you're in.

Cons

High staff turnover, This generally isn't the companies fault... Many people find the work is not for them, find it harder than expected or simply do not want to adhere to policies. This results in new, inexperienced staff being injected into the company putting more pressure on senior staff. Split shifts, not enjoyable for anyone but they are part of aviation.. especially in international contracts where no flights arrive or depart throughout midday. Don't like hard work? Don't apply for a ramp handler role, After your initial training there are no 'mock' turnarounds, you will be put on real flights and face the demand of high pressure OTP requirements.

Pros

It is a first step into aviation industry, with low entry requirements. Professional growth is minimal, so gain your experience and then get out!

Cons

Aero-Care pays has a dubious Collective Agreement, which came to light during the recent Tiger Airways grounding. Ground staff (including permanent) were put on leave without pay during the Tiger Airways grounding due to a clause that did not require us to be paid during an airline grounding. There is also no restriction on overnight rest, so you can finish late one night and be back extremely early the next morning. The staff turnover at Aero-Care Flight Support is very high and this results in constant inexperience and a difficult working environment. The company does not support union activity and this is reflected in the working conditions and collective agreement. The pay is much lower than other companies in the industry and staff receive no travel benefits. You will be worked very hard and have management constantly micromanaging and building "staff logs" so you can be let go at Aero-Care's whim.

Pros

The job itself is great. Enjoyed learning all the new skills involved with airport operations.

Cons

Firstly, i am a good ,hard worker who is used to shift work and getting on with the job with no questions asked and getting along with my co workers, but this, this company is terrible. The pay is absolutely terrible, its embarrassing. The rosters are a joke, 3 hour shifts, if your lucky you may get a double shift, but with 3 or 4 maybe 5 hours in between. Parking is not free. You will be out of pocket a few hundred bucks JUST to get the job. Extremely bad work culture, the treatment of new employees is terrible. Horrible arrogant staff, with the exception of a few wonderful people. I could go on but im sure i will run out of room. Seriously im not usually a whinger but the time spent here was the worst of my life. Such a horrible environment. So many bullies. Please people stay away.
