Pros
Hey, apart from work life balance, there aren't any.
Cons
Firms are built on people, on judgment, competence, and the ability to work collaboratively. Unfortunately, my experience at Affirm has been the complete opposite. I have never encountered such a combination of childishness and unnecessarily aggressive behavior. What is particularly astonishing is the extent to which certain individuals, especially within the Legal team (who think they are God btw), lean almost entirely on AI for answers. Every question is met with, “I’ll get back to you on that,” and when you attempt to guide them in the right direction, they become defensive and dismissive, and arrogant only to produce something entirely misaligned with the issue at hand. This pattern doesn’t reflect professionalism. It reflects a culture where insecurity is masked by unnecessary posturing, and where basic competence is replaced by overreliance on tools rather than expertise. It’s troubling, and it undermines individuals who want to work in a professional environment.
