Pros

Decent Salary Outstanding Benefits Package (Great medical/dental/vision, good 401k match, and a full-blown pension on top of that) Travel opportunities Mitsubishi Corporation benefits (Training, assistance, etc) Small but diverse company with a big impact and footprint in the US and beyond Real support structure; this company genuinely cares for its employees Rotating staff from Japan bring different perspective, culture

Cons

Not as agile at decision making as a company this size could be Sometimes the cultural differences and language barrier make issues more complex than they need to be when requiring approval from overseas Branch locations do not always receive the attention they deserve Feast or Famine workload in some areas, depending upon harvest schedules Bonus structure for merchandisers should be more competetive Small employee base limits opportunities for upward mobility in many departments

Great company to learn in, but not to stay in

Pros

A great company that will take care of you and educates you in their Mitsubishi-style schooling. You will travel to other offices or locations to do off-site learning and get to know your counterparts in other divisions. You will learn the business in at a comfortable pace and management will show a lot of patience while you learn. There are opportunities to have more formal education through paid, third-party companies. HR puts on a few events that are great at bringing people together and breaking the monotony of work.

Cons

Rotating staff are held to a different standard. Some rotating staff are excellent and do a wonderful job, while some seem to be immune to any scrutiny and get pushed through the ranks despite their inability to do their assigned jobs or even speak the language. Most of the rotating staff are wonderful to work with, but the rotating door effect leaves everyone a little depressed when they leave. Company culture is rigid with a lot of the homegrown, old-guard in constant friction with the younger, international staff. There are two bad apples that change the atmosphere from good to bad in a moment. The decision-making process is extremely slow and drawn up. A lot of run-around from management. Lack of vision and growth. Averse to new ideas. Fear of trying new things.
