      Stability and good unity of effort.

      Cons

      If you don't get an early start in your career seen as a "bright and shiny" or you go outside of AMC you will have a much harder time getting promoted.

      The figurative red tape can get quite thick and multi-layered. Advancement is also not a clearly defined path unless you're using the role to buy Time In Grade.
