Pros

Its a good company in the news

Cons

Managers are a joke, Belittle and just about little to no training after the initial training . Manager in Portsmouth a disaster. He is a waste of a salary and literally speaks so terrible to his employees. The company has you bring people in with the idea that there is a job and then it is just for a down the road job. Wastes peoples time.

Pros

Alexander Technology Group helped me find my first job in the IT industry, the job was as described. Working with Alexander Technology Group is a good experience, Chuck cares about his job placements and strives to match employees with a suitable employer. Everyone is also very friendly.

Cons

The contract was temporary, which I knew. This is a good job placement company, but the job I was placed at hired people to finish a business acquisition. As soon as the merger happened I was shown the door, this does not reflect on Alexander Technology Group - as they told me this was a possibility. The only bad part was, I did not see it coming. I was let go over the weekend and presented with 3 reasons (a thesis statement), as to why I was let go. This is not the recruitment company's fault, but by choosing to do business with such a large entity (The Weather Company, IBM) - it makes it possible. They are very aggressive in their placements and I would recommend to people who are looking, but do not forget to evaluate the company they end up placing you with! Ask Questions!

Pros

Most individual contributors are genuinely nice people.

Cons

Most recruiting firms have high attrition. But Bank W and ATG in particular has real trouble holding on to managers, leaders, and top performers. Their generous comp plan is something they remind their staff of frequently, coupled with a heavily preached "We're the best" message that stinks of desperation. Turns out, high % commission plans are only as great as the resources (or lack thereof) available to you. My advice if comparing offers from this and other staffing firms: 15% of a watermelon is more than 25% of a cherry tomato. You'll have a tough time billing much of anything here. No matter the lack of resources, be prepared for management to make it clear that they're the ones doing you a favor. Very command and control management style across the board. Inexperienced partners that are terrified of spending money and investing in their people. Don't get on the sinking ship.
