Just stay away

Pros

If you're desperate for a job, then take it. If you enjoy being schmoozed by two faced fakers, you'll love these guys. Management will always tell you what you want to hear to shut you up and keep you happy, but know that they're entirely full of it and nothing will change.

Cons

Deceptive management. Upper level staff is just a clique. While I was working here, the 3 lead artists transitioned into a "New Business Team" which brought in zero new jobs, completed zero projects and blamed the core team for their failures. The majority of the "New Business Team's" day was generally spent screwing off. Coming in late, not starting anything until 2 then staying late and claiming they're working hard 14 hours a day. They typically are in their office watching movies and playing video games while the rest of the staff works. They will use you and spit you out. They do this routinely. Have a plan B if you're working here, or just kiss up much as you can and toss away your pride and self respect. Expect to work 6 consecutive 12-14 hour days every week for no additional compensation. Very below average pay, especially when you start factoring in hour worked annually and breaking that down to an hourly rate. You're likely near minimum wage once you've factored in extra hours which are mandatory.

They don't know what they're doing

Pros

Recently remodeled. Pets allowed. Other artists are friendly. If you drink, party, mingle, work late, and laugh at management's jokes, you should be okay.

Cons

Those in upper management and mid-management have assumed their roles without the ability to actually manage appropriately. Alter grew too big too fast and they simply can't handle the artists or their needs. There is little to no training, guidance, or overall leadership. To put it bluntly, It's a bunch of self appointed hacks pretending to have a functional company. Behind the facade are lies, deceit, greed, denial, and aggression, all of which affect the artists in the end. This is not a permanent job. This is a job to bang out a few neat projects, and then be on your way before you get trapped. They're always short on money, even though they're "so busy" all the time. TV shows and video games take up most of the day, and then they work late and brag about how hard they worked. Too many poorly-managed sample projects and too few actual projects help plague this once innovative company. Management will never take blame for anything, it always lands on the artist's lap. Have fun working late, working weekends, and then getting tossed to the curb if you speak up and defend your basic rights.

Pros

The office was recently renovated.

Cons

Terrible management, very unprofessional and disorganized. You will be expected to work late without any overtime pay. Management consists of people who have little to no experience in running a company. Very uncomfortable environment with of a lot of cliques. The companies morals are terrible, and they treat their employees badly and with no respect. Expect many false promises.
