Pros
This is a great place to start a career or come if you have an appetite to drive impact at a more senior level. At the lower levels you'll get to learn about effective business communication, growth marketing, and planning, whereas coming in at the manager level gives you opportunities to build teams, manage PnL, and learn how to have high-impact conversations both with reports and external players. -You'll learn a lot, very quickly. -Managers are supportive. -Your network and exit opportunities will be strong after only ~18 months of good work. -You might even have some fun along the way! The culture is set up for building comradery and making friends, especially if you're based in New York.
Cons
-the work can be demanding. it's the field more than anything but when the job is so numerically KPI focused, if your partnership is missing numbers, it can be stressful (even if a lot of it is self-imposed). -work can get repetitive after a time. there are constantly opportunities to step up but it's possible to be in a position for a few months longer than feels novel based on business need, which is a drag. -some periods are intensely busy, either due to a sale or big seasonal marketing event. hard to avoid but worth being aware of.
