Toxic work environment. Favoritism culture.

Pros

Great purpose and helps many companies achieve climate goals.

Cons

Some members of leadership manage by berating employees publicly, through intimidation, or back door insults. It is an impossible culture to infiltrate and not welcoming to new employees

Culture nightmare, leadership disconnected from reality

Pros

Plenty of opportunities to find your niche and get noticed. The other people you work with, outside of management, are truly great to work with.

Cons

Massive favoritism culture, good opportunities are often passed to favorites even when someone else did the work to get the opportunity to its current stage. Compensation is extremely mixed and makes little sense, some people had very high compensation while contributing very little while others grinded hard and were passed up and pushed off to other areas of the business. Leadership does not seem to have a solid grasp on reality, I over heard the founder suggest to one employee with a baby on the way to get a night nurse not realizing the monthly cost was equal to the employee's monthly take home pay. CEO often seems panicked about the future of this company. The hiring during my time was focused on adding numerous VPs who expected lower level employees not on their team to do work for them rather than do their own job. Clear lack of organization, especially on cross-function teams. Company as a whole has performed very well but has a constant undertone of cutting good people, eliminating roles of people who add value but they don't like, and little to no job security if you aren't a favorite. Many managers are BIG micromanagers wanting to be involved in every little detail and nitpicking issues. Communication between some managers and their employees is awful, springing minor complaints on their employees during year-end reviews that could have been easily brought up and addressed in the moment instead of staying silent until they needed to find an excuse to not promote or give a pay raise.
