Culture is changing and people are leaving

Pros

Nice office in central location Nice colleagues and teammates Nice activities International team Some good team spirit but really depends on managers

Cons

A lot of talent people are leaving, some team are almost all fired because of the reorganization. A lot of projects are handed over and people are worried about what the future will be. Much lower than market salary, only 1-3% salary increase even no change for last year in the whole company. No idea for managers. That’s also why you keep saying you’re hiring but no talents are joining. You don’t provide the reward that talents think it worths. Some managers are good at their job but some manager can be really toxic. The manager can keep pushing down people, never listen to employees and change the office rules about the flexibility like a big corporation. This can change to a negative and unmotivated work culture as you are a startup and full of tech people. It’s all about showing power. They can hide and lie about the company and team development while people can tell by themselves because people are not stupid. There were feedback workshops with HR about the managers and company review, people raised up questions and opinions in those meetings but there’s never a follow up. A toxic manager can also make people leave even faster.

Pros

- nice location - nice parties - some nice colleagues

Cons

- bad c-level - no feasible strategy - continuing hiring bad higher management and promoting incompetent people - unfair and low salaries - issues just get ignored - no appreciation - talents are leaving - nobody seems to care - too much office politics for such a small/medium-sized company - lack of communication between departments or top to bottom - micro-managers are too visible and everybody just ignores it - some upper managers have 0 people skills - forget it if you wanna switch departments or if you want to grow - HO policy is a joke (once a week with "no exceptions"?!)

It's a Man's World

Pros

Some good afterwork activities & some teams still try to hold together despite challenges.

Cons

Very poor leadership since people without any leadership experience or personal skills get promoted and left alone. Junior leaders don't get any advice or coaching since senior management doesn't have any experience either. Without any self-reflection, this condition seems unlikely to change. Performance is evaluated in a very strange way and people get either kicked out or promoted based on personal references, rather than what is truly beneficial for the company. There is no psychological safety and every other day brings a new (typically negative) surprise. People are waiting for some clarity and guidance on every company-wide meeting but get disappointed every time. Serious issues are not brought up, hence no plans for improvement are developed. With almost no women being decision makers (anymore), the male-dominated nature of the company makes it less welcoming for women. Furthermore, a lot of good people are stuck because of visa regulations but are truly unhappy. I would not recommend the employer to anyone.
