Pros

- Benefits were incredible. Self - insured and very affordable. Wellness discount included if you participated in a few requirements. Employees in Fort Smith had a free clinic close by that was at no cost to the employee. - Very culture focused! ArcBest actually lived out their values and focused on them in everything they did. - Significant training and employee development was provided and encouraged. - Not afraid to try new things. They did a great job overcoming the "we've always done it this way" mentality. They implemented a lot of neat initiatives (wellness discount, new employee focus group and events, jean days, 5K races, employee appreciate events) that got the employees involved with the company and each other outside of their daily tasks. - Leadership didn't hide out on the executive floor. They were willing to get out and about in the building and at different events. They were easy to talk to and welcoming. They participated in networking events, new hire luncheons, days of service, panels, etc. to be involved across the board. They did not shy away from interacting with all employees.

Cons

I have very few cons about ArcBest. There are still a few managers and employees that are stuck in a "that's how we've always done it" mentality, but they are truly few and far between at this point.

Pros

Excellent company, open to suggestions and improvements, wonderful employees and company culture.

Cons

Loads and pay vary tremendously. Good weeks net $1,000+/week. However, there are weeks with $0 loads and 0 miles. Hard to survive the slow times without an additional income stream.

Pros

Learning how to correct issues and overcome bad management, bad pay, and a male chauvinist empowered company.

Cons

Stress! Bad pay! Bad bonus plans that change to worse every year! CEO is female, but they literally still have functions that only men can attend whether they are working for the company or customers. Ever heard of Duck Club? No women allowed period. If you try and voice any sort of opinion that differs from theirs, you are pulled in a back room and threatened. The male managers, along with some female, joke about extremely inappropriate and crude things on the sales floor. If you speak up about it, you are bullied in to submission. I made the company $20M a year and I made considerably less after eight years than when I was hired due to cuts in pay and bonus structure. New hires are paid less than pizza delivery people. Work to life balance is awful, company mentality is awful, management is a joke, and they keep trying to make themselves look better so they can sell the company off. Get out while you can!
