    Pros

Great people, flexible work to home life if you work hard for it. Work is fun and rewarding. Customers are interesting and want only the best. Owners are very visible and interactive. Everyone doesn’t like writing weekly reports to management, but it is a direct line to management for feedback. It is our fault if we don’t address problems. Listing this as a Pro because it’s a double edged sword, can either help you or hurt you.

    Cons

Work can be discouraging at times but is rewarding. Work can be isolating but can be overcome by interacting with coworkers. Wish there were more team building exercises. Advancement is slow but comes to those whom wait.

    Pros

If you like change and growth, then you have found the right company. The dental industry has traditionally lagged other medical device industries, but in the last 5 years cutting edge technology has catapulted dental into the "now." Argen has worked hard to evolve to match the lightening speed of today's business. You are offered the opportunity to work on large scale projects, including bringing new digitally manufactured products to market, testing out new machines, and using technology to bring an analog business to the digital age. It is a family business so everyone knows your name, and you are constantly greeted with a smile and the faces of supervisors and managers trying to make things happen. The mantra is bring passion and energy to your job every day, which you will need to do because there is no shortage of projects to work on or issues to overcome. There is a lot of entrepreneurial spirit in this well established company. Anyone willing to work hard, think smart, and be a problem solver will succeed in this environment.

    Cons

The infrastructure at the Oberlin building needs attention. Originally, the business was going to consolidate to the Miralani site, but since that has been delayed, it is time to focus on beautification.

I have been working at Argen full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Lots of opportunity to fill multiple roles. The company has been throwing itself into expending its product line and its capabilities, and somehow has been managing to stay afloat. The company has been hiring lots of new blood on the managerial and directorial level which is actively trying, though struggling, to bring them in line. HR has been actively working to improve quality of life at the company.

    Cons

Virtual guarantee to be overextended The "somehow" is the problem here. The company does not make meaningful investments in its people, and when it feigns these investments, it doesn't make them in earnest, and they do not pay their employees competitive wages to the point that the company loses employees as fast as they gain them. Management has a fun habit of "correcting" timecards and encouraging employees to work off the clock, during lunch, or even from home on the weekends when they should be collecting overtime. When challenged on this, they will often either lie to their employees about the monetary benefits of retroactively giving up a sick day in order to coerce them to give up their entitlements or money they earned. While HR has admittedly done a better job in recent months to handle turnover via overall Quality of Life improvements, upper management is overly focused on achieving its strategic goals to the point of treating staff as expendable. While they trumpet internal promotions and lateral transfers, middle management expresses contempt bordering on malice when it comes to "other departments stealing our team members," to the point that on the corporate floor, middle management would rather pay out the nose to hire contractors and consultants instead of investing in training internal employees to properly handle the new demands. When they're challenged by their employees, regardless of the employee's experience or (in the case of the timecard modifications, the law), they As is typical of most long-standing establishments, many of the company's veterans are resistant to change, however there is little support shown from the operational directors who are overextended from picking up the slack of the upper management who got by and in on nepotism. Last but certainly not least, the company values are a complete joke. Integrity is the lowest priority among the company, and the less questions you ask, the better.

I worked at Argen full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Learned new skills, you can learn how not to be in business here.

    Cons

Department was a mess coming in. Tried to correct problems many times over. Received pushback, multiple managers left due to pushback lack of support from owners. Safety issues not considered important. Owners only concerned with bottom line. Dental lab with poor dental coverage need I say more? Title means everything and nothing-Unless the owners pick you, you have no creditability.
