Pros

Good product to work with

Cons

Where to start? Poor remuneration package, pays considerable less than the rest of the industry, pension is OK, but only because it suits the senior management. Complete lack of direction from the top, directors have no idea how to transform the company from a small family business to the corporate entity it has become. Because of this systems, processes and departments are broken and are unable to operate with any efficiency. This creates a blame culture with finger pointing between teams making it a truly toxic environment to work in. The leadership team have no idea how to address these problems and pours time and budget in to poorly planned projects that exacerbate the issues rather than fix them. At the same time the business obsesses over small but essential purchases that are key to the everyday running of the business, creating further frustrations for staff. Penny pinching to the extreme. The HR department is dysfunctional and part time?! Policies are not applied equally, staff that should be removed from the business are not dealt with, serious HR issues are left for department heads to deal with, with no support. Actual knowledge of human resources is embarrassing. Senior staff bully, bulldoze and force their agenda down on to managers and the rest of the business. Not open to discussions or opinions from the management team in terms of business direction. They know best and their opinion is final. Want to progress? Only if you're part of the "boys club". It's not what you know or how you perform, but who get on with. Top banter will most likely get you a pay rise with the right director. "Mates" are progressed both in terms of position and financially. New positions are created but never discussed or offered to the wider staff base, but kept secret to reward the clicks. Going above and beyond in your job is never recognised and becomes the new expected norm going forwards. The really exceptional people that keep the business going are abused rather than supported and are slowly all leaving.

Pros

The people in the national sales team are a really friendly group and incredibly supportive. My line manager was also very supportive and helpful, unfortunately for all involved management any higher was bad Main part of the business is selling Pokémon (asmodee distribute for them), good to work with a big brand

Cons

Generally staff are taken for granted and are an after thought. E.g. London Toy Fair, a lot of pressure is put on people to make it a success, you have to work additional hours, you are away from home for 3 days, on your feet all day. All of this I could accept were there some recognition of the effort staff make. Other companies I have worked for would give you the additional time back or something. At asmodee you get an insincere email saying thank you, which based on what people put in is pitiful. There was a staff survey where the end result was significantly more people would recommend NOT working for asmodee than would recommend. Asmodee took no actions in the next 12 months which made me change people's mind as far as I saw. Staff discount - company still makes a profit out of you and will sell it to customers for less than they will sell it to their staff. Personally believe companies should look after their staff first That's the only benefit and it ain't great. Only so many board games you can buy Hybrid working policy was inconsistent and not considerate of their staff. Luckily for me personally I had a good arrangement A lot of the senior management have been in their roles a long time and even longer with the company. Result of which is very little strategic direction. "Sell more games" isn't a strategy. There are a lot of trade shows in the toy industry and the lot in senior management will let you know what a lovely time they have and all the people they speak to. There were also rumours of senior management doing clearance deals to mates in the industry which if true (probably is) says a lot about them. There are other examples but anyone reading this will get the picture

Pros

Solipsism; thriving environment for sociopaths. Events, meeting interesting people, also a bonus.

Cons

Several pleas for help regarding mental health issues were largely/entirely ignored. My bosses seemed not to care at all; only HR were able to reassure me. At times bullied by senior figure.
