Pros

There is nothing good about this job

Cons

Minimum wage for a job that requires you to be on your feet for at least 4+ hours. The client pays at least £19 per every person that works for AYS at an event, so it doesn't make sense why AYS pay £6.50. absolutely ridiculous. The staff on the telephone are pretty much useless and rude.

Pros

-gain entrance to exclusive events -sometimes free meals

Cons

there appears to be some sort of favouritism regarding shifts. Priority is given to older staff or staff of European descent (I discovered this upon talking with other waitresses). If you don't fit these categories you will be cancelled from shifts all the time and told that there is no work available even when there is...or worst case scenario you will be put as a reserve all the time. Management staff are so rude in the office, and the company do not care about your welfare at all. I once did a 12 hour long shift outside of London with no food or water offered.

Pros

-Some of the venues are art related, which I'm interested in (Christies etc) -You (sometimes) get nice food -All the other staff are pretty much guaranteed lovely people

Cons

-The pay is bare minimum -You get fined if you are ill on the day equivalent to the pay of a 4 hour shift -You get treated badly by the people you serve at venues -Their invoice slips make it difficult for you to check if your pay is correct -You get treated badly by the management you're hired out by -You are paid less than people from different staffing companies (By Word of Mouth, Esprit etc) who are doing exactly the same job as you, with you -The longest I've had to wait to get an email reply was 15 days, after sending 4 emails in total -You get shouted at for not being able to work on a day you've already said you can't work on (I got an aggressive phonecall trying to make me work on the day of a funeral of a family member. The absolute last straw)
