Pros

NFP. Changing people's lives. Not all bad. Some teams with good leaders.

Cons

Chiefs: competent, approachable. "Heads of" (middle management): hierarchical, incompetent, toxic, abrupt. Some teams great to work with, good leaders. Some teams (like member experience/marketing): toxic, constantly loses people, poor leadership, poor performance, bloated team size. Company direction confusing. Bullies allowed to stay, hire more bullies.

Pros

Having a nice office including the building and location

Cons

- Hybrid work environment: Your boss is forcing you to come to work, which contradicts the advertised benefit. - Collaborative, supportive and inclusive work culture: You feel that if you care about other people, you will be scolded and that you are only expected to care about your workload. - Complimentary membership to the ACS and the many benefits associated with the membership, including our Ambassador card: You feel that this benefit is useless and that there are better benefit tools available outside of the company. - NFP Salary Packaging – meaning you pay less tax and have more take-home money to spend: You feel that this benefit is useless for the majority of people. - Employee Assistance Program (free and confidential counselling services): You feel that this benefit is useless and that it provides nothing. - Additional leave including up to 3 gifted days p.a, a recharge day and floating holidays to celebrate what's important to you: this benefit is useless, boss did not approve it. - 10 weeks of paid parental leave: You feel that this benefit is a common deal that is available everywhere in Australia. - Access to training and development: You question whether this benefit is really available. - Reward and recognition for a job well done: You feel that nobody does this and that your attempts to do this were ignored. You also feel that the management level has poor leadership skills and is too political. You have not experienced cooperation, only separation.

Pros

Great office space and facilities. Paid more than you would be elsewhere. You meet great people that you can head hunt when you move to another company.

Cons

Toxic culture that is acknowledged but also enabled by senior management. Senior management is very disorganised. Very high staff turnover. Not enough information provided to complete projects in a timely way meaning that you will always be stressed and doing things at the last minute and making mistakes - and then you get yelled at. Usually in front of other people. Some issues around the brand and name of organisation.
