A Circus: Structure & Climate

Pros

Benefits Package is good and contracted through a proper service provider. The hourly workers are hard working and honest (warehousing & delivery + a few more). They use Google services for Small Business which is a plus. There are a few good folks being the glue keeping it all together (at great personal costs). One shop location actually has real electrical craftsman industry experience.

Cons

Sales team influences & runs the company. Unhealthy work-life balance is common place (it should be discourage as it's generally not sustainable). There are no bonafied production managers assigning tasks according to strengths & abilities, no follow through with effective scheduling, just demanding faster results. Company profit is being eaten up by excessive travel, manual material logistics, and unqualified persons who keep their head down. Because of the above, and lack of appropriate processes, growth into new markets, or increasing market share is limited. An unwillingness to accept change unless pitched by preferential figures is more pronounced than with other employers.

Positive Improvements and Environment

Pros

While Automation-X has been through many changes in the past year, the team is working hard to move the company in the right direction. Changes to management in removing some previous individuals and bringing Phil back in as the President was the best decision that could have been made for the company. With this change we are now moving in a more positive direction and slowly seeing improvements. Transparency has increased and management seem to be well aligned at this time. Overall, I feel very supported by my colleagues accross departments and truly enjoy working with everyone on the team here. We build close relationships with one another and I really value that in a work environment. Automation-X offers fantastic benefits, better than many of my colleagues and myself have seen elsewhere, in the industry or otherwise. The ESOP is a really exciting benefit in addition to the standard benefits that are offered. I am excited about the long term potential of this and I like that it includes every employee.

Cons

We as a company certainly have work to do to continue to make improvements, but we are headed in the right direction. Continued focus on transparency, accountability and employee development will help all of our team members and I am excited to be a part of this improvement.

Pros

Benefits are top notch, even if they change providers every year or 2.

Cons

The leadership likes to grandstand and say they are 100% employee owned. Then spend hundred and thousands of dollars on product that doesn't move. There is a serious lack of accountability among the leadership though they hold the staff accountable. When leadership is given advice on best practices they don't listen and it's always what they want, not what's best for the company or industry standard. Managers gossiping with employees about matters that they should not be talking about. The only way to make money within the company is to be in outside sales or be a favorite among the leadership.
