Pros

The other recruiters are some of the best people I've ever met. Everyone bonds against the company (common enemy)

Cons

- Pay (unless you are upper management of course) - Terrible work environment. Literally everyone is unhappy (except for upper management of course). Expect to get yelled at for things that aren't in your control. - People eat lunch at their desks. You will get dirty looks if you decide to go out for lunch. - You are overworked. Poor work/life balance. - Management is clueless on how things work. They will micromanage you and most of them have no idea how to recruit. - Upper management does whatever they want. They will be out vacationing while you work all day every day and get turned into a scapegoat for their mistakes.

It’s important to note that all of Axelon’s upper management have risen through Axelon’s ranks. Any dedicated, talented hire has the chance to become upper management. This is the Axelon opportunity.

Pros

-The day I resigned from Axelon.

Cons

-Long Hours: 9:00am - 6:30pm. -Low Pay: $40,000 per year and commission is only 5% -Eating lunch at your desk everyday. -Stressful environment -Management -Dungeon Floor The review posted on November 7, 2015 is 100% accurate. Axelon is a company with miserable employees and a very high turnover rate... If you walk around the office (either floor) you will see a ton of unhappy faces. Some of the people who review Axelon are temporary employees not working as recruiters in their Wall Street office. Also 99% of the 5 stars reviews come directly from management. When a recruiter quits management finds it almost impossible to find a replacement… It seems as if they think writing 5 star reviews will outweigh all the negative Glassdoor reviews. Do you want to eat lunch at your desk everyday and get yelled at for no reason? Would you like working Monday – Friday from 9:00am to 6:30pm when you are only being paid $40,000 per year? If so, I’m assuming you want to be miserable in which case Axelon is the perfect company for you!!! Be prepared to eat lunch at your desk… 95% of people eat at their desk every single day in order to meet their submittal quota. You start out with a quota of 10 submittals per week, which will quickly be increased. My team on the dungeon floor was once told “recruiting isn’t supposed to be relaxing”…. None of us thought it was supposed to be relaxing we just didn’t expect to be overworked and yelled at for things that were out of our control.

Avoid working here..

Pros

It's best to avoid this place if you can, especially if you are a recent graduate. That being said, there's free crappy pizza on Fridays.

Cons

First of all, the five star reviews that you see on here are written by upper management. Axelon is a very corrupt and hostile working environment. Most employee's don't stay here over 6 months. It's a revolving door that you don't want to get your leg stuck in. If you are reading this, please avoid accepting an offer here unless you absolutely have to. It can be a good place to launch your career on your resume--but you will hate it. Axelon targets recent college graduates who are anxious to get working. When interviewing for a position, notice how HR don't have you interact with ANY current employees on site--that is because everyone who works there is noticeably miserable. Once you accept an offer, there is a week long training period where you learn recruiting and company policy. During this time, you are constantly being told that the company is investing in you and they are counting on you--this is to make you feel guilty about leaving. After training, you are brought onto the 16th floor. This floor looks very different from where you interviewed and received your training on. The 16th floor (aka the dungeon) is where you will now be spending most of your waking hours. Welcome! Everyone here is overworked. Breaks? What's a break? Hardly anyone takes breaks, or even takes their eyes off their computer for that matter. You are often times asked to harass the same person 5-10+ times a day to collect paperwork. Once they give you a quota, it will just get higher and higher with little commission growth. Every week, an email is sent to everyone on your team that ranks the best and worst recruiters for the week. People will often stay later and overwork themselves to avoid being at the bottom of that list. You will likely be yelled at for things that are totally out of your control. Perhaps the worst thing about this place however, is the intentional illusion of an accessible bright future with the company. There are a few people in the company's inner circle who make good money. And their desks will be right next to yours. Axelon makes it seem like you can make that much too if you just stayed with the company a little longer. The truth is, the company's run by a few people that handle all the big accounts. As soon as a big account comes in (which is very rare), it will go right to the inner circle (and yes, they sleep with each-other too). If your not in the circle, there's no opportunity for growth.

Axelon offers all of its recruiters a competitive base salary, plus unlimited commission. Thanks to the opportunity we offer all our recruiters, all of Axelon’s upper management have worked their way through Axelon’s ranks. We regret that the fast-paced work environment of a recruitment agency does not suit every person we hire.
