Pros

Since my time at AxisCare, I have found that the only reasons I enjoy working here are that they encourage learning, and they allow some of their employees to work remotely. Since COVID, only the first reason is relevant.

Cons

There have been many red flags that I've had since working here that I ignored. The first one was when the recruiter offered me a salary that was $5k under what my minimum pay range was and then made me an offer at $10k under that. I later learned that this was not a mistake. It's a common practice. Also, the executives are overworked and micromanage. This, in turn, leads engineers to be overworked, working on things they shouldn't and often undoing their work. The thing they care most about is the money. They don't care about the end-users of the software. They don't care about the engineers. The main priority is the priority of the highest-paying customer. However, they will tell you many things at the beginning. They will tell you they care about employees and care about the end-users and care about many things. However, they quickly dismiss new ideas no matter how helpful. They disregard most feedback. And they will pay gauge you while continually telling you that you don't live up to their expectations. They also will sell you on the idea of becoming a manager, which they have no intention of following through. They will threaten your job or fire you on the spot. The managers will plan meetings and processes that they never follow through.

Pros

Incredible Culture – People genuinely care for one another and live out the company values every day. Driven for Excellence – Employees bring their A-game and take ownership; few settle for average. Folks Treat Others Well – Respect, honesty, and kindness are at the core of internal and external interactions. Gossip is discouraged. We go straight to others with concerns or feedback. Growth-Minded Environment – Curiosity, feedback, and professional development are encouraged and celebrated. Purposeful Work – You end each day knowing your effort makes a real difference in people’s lives.

Cons

The bar for excellence is high—great for growth, but it can stretch you. Rapid company growth means frequent change (which can take adjustment). Limited downtime—there’s always something exciting underway!

Pros

Amazing culture! Not just words on a Powerpoint; this company lives and breathes it from the CEO down. You have to experience it to believe it! I can not say enough about this!

Cons

Based in Waco, TX which is not easy to get to. Super fast growth - which is not a negative - but has it's own set of challenges that not everyone may be comfortable with.
