Pros

Some colleagues were really nice. Friday snacks.

Cons

I was expected to jump into "full swing" with only a days training. My first week I was welcomed to "clientname-Hell" in a company briefing. A couple of weeks after I started a team member left and I was expected to pick up their workload in their absence without any training or a handover from them. Recruitment for their role didn't start until after they left; so I had to train the replacement too - very poor planning. I had to work late every Friday, usually until 8-9pm. No overtime pay for this. By the 8th week in a row it seemed obvious this was normal, and was a part of the job. I was expected to start work early every day and usually stay late too because one member of the team would complain to the boss if she thought people weren't putting in enough hours. Company provides things like jigsaws to do on breaks, but then gives you a hard time for doing them. Senior colleague told us about her excessive drug use in her early 20s during the most awkward business meeting ever. I could go on; the ironic part is they're all convinced it's a great place to work!

Pros

fun atmosphere at times, good people

Cons

Very low salary, no opportunity for progression, they say too much do too little, bad management, loads of managers don't even have a degree or are unable to handle the work load yet they are not being dealt with by senior management

Pros

There are some really lovely people who genuinely care for others. The CEO is very friendly and approachable. They send some nice parcels at key celebration times in the year to employees and produce some fun engagement activities where you can earn points and prizes. The HR team are very knowledgeable and try their hardest to provide care to all and excellent training, but they are removed highly from the day to day of things and tend to side with the longest serving employees, regardless of right and wrong.

Cons

There are however many who have an attitude that is not personable towards others; perhaps concerned with job progression only, rather than caring for a team and those who are part of it; seems to contradict an industry designed to inspire others. Training was strange, throughout the whole time I was there. If work was delegated, it was like a game constantly with information being withheld, you would get told bare minimum even if the manager knew the full picture. Researching things for yourself is great if you have time; it is good for learning... But with time pressure to have this always, and then be told you are no good at your job if you couldn't keep up just isn't on, it is a game and I was never sure why... But it could suit some personalities well who like this type of challenge. Mental Health wise I was shocked really. They do have some Mental Health First Aiders, but it does not feel they have any experience of what it is really like for someone to be suffering with mental health struggles. It is is ok not to understand it; but I think basic level support is missing when it is really needed... being kind, seeing people as human and seeing them as unique individuals... in the situations daily that could cause difficulties or stress are somewhat overlooked... and the person on the receiving end simply becomes a business resource only.
