Pros

Good deals on their ski and golf. I guess it is easy to give something away that doesn't cost the compamy a dime.

Cons

Don't ever expect a raise. I guess Boyne feels cheap skiing and golfing makes up for their unwillingness to pay people what they are worth. I was offered a job at Boyne 17 years ago in maintenance. The starting wage was $10 p/h. I agreed to except my current position last year in maintenance for $10 p/h with the understanding aftera year and "proving myself" I would get a raise to a living wage. Well it's a year later and I am still making $10 p/h. Then comes the song and dance about the resorts out west having a bad season and there will be no raises this year. Nevermind the fact the resort I work at had it's best year in 2014 and is on track to have a better year in 2015. Golfing and skiing deals are great but I can't pay bills with it. I guess if you need a job till something better comes along go for it, there will always be a place for warm bodies here. Absolutely not a place to have a career.

Pros

Free lift tickets, beautiful location, the culture amongst seasonal staff is unbeatable, seasonal workplaces offer many opportunities to move up when you have less experience

Cons

Worked too much to use the free lift tickets. Never worked less than 55hrs/wk. Usually understaffed, difficult to find reliable employees because everyone goes there to live on the mountain. Corporate structure is frustrating. It's difficult to get anything done because it has to go through so many people and often end up doing things yourself. Maintenance, bless them, are swamped so, as hard as they work, it still takes them ages to get to anything that isn't so urgent it supersedes all else. There isn't enough employee housing so half the staff comes in from Bozeman every day. Four hours travel time they're not paid for which is a huge hit to morale and leads to people getting burnt out or quitting. Healthcare plan is worthless.
